combined heat and power (CHP)

Combined heat and power (CHP) is a generator that produces both heat and electricity. The heat generated by the hot cogeneration unit is stored in a thermal storage tank to provide the heat needed for the greenhouse, while the CO2 produced by combustion can be utilized by plant growth. The hot-spot cogeneration unit also provides power to the regional grid, while leaving a small portion for lighting. If the crop plants do not need any additional light.
